About my equipment delivery
If you're a broadband-only customer, we'll send your TalkTalk router to your home address via Royal Mail. It will arrive 3-5 days before your services go live.

If you opted in for TalkTalk TV, your router, TalkTalk TV box and all other equipment will be sent via courier and will also arrive 3-5 days before your activation date.

How can I track my equipment?
It’s easy to track your order online via My Account. You can follow your order progress, check your activation date and see your delivery status. If you've opted for an engineer installation, you'll also be able to view and amend your appointment. Remember, you can still track your order online even if you placed your order by phone.

Do I need to sign for my equipment?
The courier will need a signature on delivery.

What happens if I'm out when it's delivered?
The courier will try to deliver it to a neighbour (where possible) or try another day.

My equipment hasn't arrived
If your activation date or engineer visit has passed and your equipment still hasn't reached you, please contact us.

Can I change where or when my equipment is delivered?
If you gave us your mobile number when you placed your order, you'll get a text on the morning of your TalkTalk TV Box delivery day. You can rearrange your delivery on the text if you want, but please don’t call us, as we can't do this for you. All details on how to rearrange delivery will be in the text.

Can I set my equipment up as soon as I receive it?
We recommend waiting until your activation date or engineer visit before setting up your equipment, as your services won't be live until then.

About my line activation day
If you've joined us from another provider and you've got an existing phone line, we can usually take over your line and transfer your services to TalkTalk without the need for an engineer visit.

Will you send me anything before my activation date?
After you've placed your order we'll send you a welcome pack including all the details of your chosen plan and your activation date. Shortly before your activation date, we'll also post out your new TalkTalk router via Royal Mail.
It's best to wait until your services have been activated before setting up your router, so keep it to one side until then.

Do I need to be home on my activation day?
All the work to activate your line will be carried out at your local exchange, so you don't need to be at home on the day your services go live unless we tell you otherwise.

What happens on my activation date?
On your activation date, we will connect your existing phone line without the need for an engineer visit. You may experience a short disruption to your phone service during this time, this usually doesn't last more than an hour.

When will my services go live?
You could go live anytime up to midnight on this day so you might want to set things up in the evening or wait until the next day to be sure everything is up and running. We'll also send you an email to confirm your services are
activated, but in the unlikely event that your services haven't gone live by the following day, please Contact Us so we can look into this for you.

Getting connected
Once your services are live, you're ready to set up the router we sent you in the post. You'll find a handy setup guide in the box with your router, or visit How do I set up my router? for step by step help with getting set up.
Following this, simply connect your devices to your router.

Ordered TV?
If you ordered TV as part of your TalkTalk package, this will have a separate activation date. Visit When will my TV go live? for more information.

Can I change my activation day?
When you join TalkTalk, we'll provide you with an activation date for your services to go live. As all the work to connect your services will be carried out at your local exchange, the engineer won't need access to your home so you don't need to be in on the day.

We're unable to change the date of your activation as this will have been arranged for the earliest available timeslot in line with our engineer availability. We'll simply connect your services on the date we provided, so everything will be ready for you to just plug in your router at a time that suits you.

How do I track when my services will be activated?

Visit My Account to follow every step of your order including:

The products & services you've ordered
Your details, phone number etc
Track your router delivery
Check your activation date (your services can go live up to midnight on this date)
View an estimate of your first bill

How much will my new line cost?
You'll be charged our standard setup fee which covers connecting your line to our network, the postage and packaging of your brand new Super Router and arranging an engineer visit if needed.
